Bersani once again rules out coalition with Berslusconi
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Pier Luigi Bersani, the leader of the Italian center-left Democratic Party, which in February secured the majority in the Lower House but not in the Senate, said today that he plans to hold a meeting with Silvio Berlusconi, the head of the center-right party, although he still rejects the possibility of forming a coalition with him.
In the middle of the complicated process of electing the next Italian president (the vote is due to take place on 18 April) Bersani confirmed that he would meet Berlusconi this week but insisted once again that he had no intention of forming a “grand coalition” with Berlusconi’s center-right.
