EU’s von der Leyen: Brexit transition may not be possible by the end of next year

The Brexit transition may not be possible by the end of next year, said the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, in an interview with Les Echos on Friday.

Earlier this month, she warned that a cliff-edge Brexit will harm the UK more than it would the EU.

Her comments come amid the latest reports that the EU is prepared to take tough measures to push Britain towards its rules, concerning trade.
